After a raid on the rural home of the psychopathic Firefly family, two members of the clan, Otis (Bill Moseley) and Baby (Sheri Moon Zombie), manage to flee the scene. Heading to a remote desert motel, the killers reunite with Baby's father, Capt. Spaulding (Sid Haig), who is equally demented and intent on maintaining their murder spree. In The Devil's Rejects, Rob Zombie sets out to make you root for the sick and depraved lead characters and somehow he finds some success. Zombie can certainly craft memorable characters. His writing still leaves MUCH to be desired.

Raiodesol S While the gore, nudity and violence stand out, as any Rob Zombie probably will, this movie seems to leave the “horror” theme. It’s really a chase movie with these horror staples. It delivers, shocking the viewer (I mean, at some points it even seems like a p*rn), and making you feel uneasy. My biggest problem with this movie is its main characters, that get they’re way too easily. The whole plot is forgotten at moments and leave you wondering: how could this have happened?But most of all, it’s fun, maybe The House Of 1000 corpses is better. The inspiration from the Manson family was very prominent here as well. These are the kind of main characters I just cannot root for, I was so excited to see them brutally tortured and everything. They were tortured but they didn’t die, which is a pain if you couldn’t tell by the way in writing this. 3/5 stars. I hate Spaulding and his family.
